Cimarron Principal Meridian

The Cimarron Meridian was the last monument made in the United States. According to Albert White they apparently had difficulty finding the correct spot and located it 3 times.

Note that the Texas border road is south of the base line of the original Cimarron monument
The upper pin is the Cimarron Meridian, the lower is the Texas state line and the western is a 1906 attempt to locate the PM properly. Clayton, NM is approx 9 miles SW of here on RT 56.
